Reeded Island Leg – 1456
Welcome to the second (albeit mildly delayed) post in the new weekly series. Today we are focusing on the 1456, the Classic Reeded Island leg.
Recently, a customer found a use for one of these legs that – although it was a brilliant setting – I had never thought of before. He sent us a picture of this lovely Bible stand he had made with our leg, as a gift to his church.

Now, he made a few embellishments to the top square, and set it with these lovely pedestal feet, and suddenly something that is typically only seen as a support to a kitchen island has a whole new life.
This leg is perfectly elegant, with the long reeded section adding to its slender, though strong, appearance. The spools on top and on bottom are the ideal transition between the graceful turning section and the more sturdy looking top and bottom squares. This customer made an excellent choice, don’t you think?
