San Francisco Contemporary Corbel

San Francisco Contemporary Corbel, from the Contemporary line #8019 (9 x 3 x 3 1/2)

It was a windy day when I exited the streetcar and made my way into the upscale hotel. There, standing by the doorway to the salon, was my dining companion for the evening. but, something else caught my eye. "What is that magnificent creation?" I thought to myself. Upon further examination, I got my answer. It was a pair of corbels that flanked the opening of the salon entrance. I was taken aback as I learned the name of these wonderful creations. Bearing the name of this adventurous city, the corbels were simply called the San Francisco Contemporary Corbel. I was atwitter with joy upon my new-found discovery.

Providence Contemporary Corbel

Providence Contemporary Corbel, from the Contemporary line #8018 (10 x 4 3/4 x 5 1/2)

The Providence Contemporary Corbel is a simplistic yet strong member of the Osborne Wood Products corbel family. This corbel exhibits the combination of the concave arch meeting with the convex arch. These combine to form the ogee. This classic corbel uses the ogee design to its fullest. Simple and understated, this corbel is the perfect choice for the cupboard, bar, mantle or structural opening that is screaming out for visible support, yet with clean unobtrusive lines.

Boston Bar Corbel

Boston Bar Corbel, from the Contemporary line #8028 (12 1/4 x 3 3/4 x 8)

The most elegant part of a bar is the top rail. That beautiful expanse just sits ready to shoulder the load of a couple of weary arms after a hard day at the office. But have you ever noticed what holds up this overhang? It's a grouping of bar corbels. The perfect choice is our Boston Bar Corbel. This simple yet sturdy corbel offers support without diminishing the overall beauty of the bar unit itself.

New York Contemporary Corbel

New York Contemporary Corbel, from the Contemporary line #8088 (12 x 5 1/2 x 8)

Like the city itself, the New York Corbel is big, in your face, and expects to be displayed in a place of prominence in your next woodworking project. At 12 inches tall and 8 inches on top, this larger contemporary corbel deserves a second look. The sleek contemporary styling certainly might find itself more at home in Trump Tower than at the Empire State Building. But, the fact that this corbel has so much potential means it transverses period details. Ornate, yet awe inspiring, this corbel is versatile.

Houston Contemporary Corbel

Houston Contemporary Corbel, from the Contemporary line #8228 (26 x 6 1/2 x 7 1/2)

You know what they say about Texas, things are just bigger there. Well, this corbel in our Contemporary Corbel line is just that. When you need the illusion of height, this one is the clear choice. At 26" tall, the Houston Contemporary Corbel will not be intimidated by anything that surrounds it. You can certainly know that this corbel will hold its own among the biggest and best architectural designs.

New Orleans Island Corbel

New Orleans Island Corbel, from the Contemporary line #1403 (36 x 6 1/2 x 8)

Reminiscent of the Crescent City, the New Orleans Island Corbel certainly takes its place among the most elegant of all corbels. With clean lines, this substantial corbel offers many options. Whether it's anchoring the corner of an island unit, or gracing the end of a cabinet, the New Orleans Island Corbel would be just as at home on Bourbon Street or Burgundy Street in the old French Quarter.
