The name "Portsmouth" comes from the coastal city of Portsmouth, Virginia. Founded in 1752, Portsmouth is one of the most historic cities in America. Taking its name from Portsmouth, England, it was one of the main ports during the Civil War (between 1861-1865). A number of historic buildings from that era are still in use, reflecting the same beauty as the Osborne Wood Products Portsmouth end table leg. One such building is the Pass House which was occupied by the Union troops in 1862, where residents obtained the pass needed to travel on the Elizabeth River. Upon entering the foyer of the Pass House, there sits a large table with legs that resemble the simple and elegant style of the Portsmouth end table leg. We offer many different sizes and wood types in the Portsmouth style, giving flexibility to create an elegant ensemble.
