The Colonial Coffee Table leg, part 1311, has proven to be a reliable standby of cabinetmakers across our country. The design is reminiscent of the Colonial Period of furniture design, which was from about 1700-1790. The Colonial Coffee Table is no exception to the knobby structure characterizing many of the pieces of this period. While the aristocrats during this period imported furniture from England, it was the less affluent that depended on local craftsman to produce what now is known as Colonial furniture designs. To create the colonial motif, the designer often combines the Colonial Coffee Table Leg, with the Colonial Dining Table leg as well as the Colonial End table leg.
