| #7102: 2 1/2 x 1 7/8 When I first started cabinetmaking, I didn't have a lathe. And I didn't have Osborne Wood Products to call on way back when. So, when I needed a Half Spool, I would actually take a piece of stock 2x2 square and 3 inches long. I would trace the top of a putty can on the block and then cut out the dowel on the band saw. After a half hour of sanding to get the saw marks off, I would then rig up a jig on my table saw to split it. Next I would have to cut two circles out of stock using a spackle can for the right size and then bad saw again. Next came routing them and all that sanding. Then it was figuring out how to split them properly. Now I had to fasten them together, so I accomplished that with screws. Could it have been any harder? Today it's one simple step. I go online and order the Half Spool #7102 and I can start my project bright and early Monday morning.
