Environmentally Friendly
Bamboo is one of the world's most renewable resources. This "wood" is actually a grass that grows very quickly. It can be harvested every 3-4 years instead of 15-20 years as are most hardwoods. A truly renewable resource - because of its extensive root system it does not need replanting. Naturally, our bamboo is not from the panda habitat or even a type they eat.
Bamboo Quality
Bamboo is denser than most hardwoods. It is 16% harder and more durable than maple, which is most commonly used for cutting boards. We do not use dyes or stains, so the color is permanent and will not fade or wash out. The light color is natural to the bamboo. The dark color is created with a specialized heating process. Chemically, this process heats up the sugar in the bamboo. The sugar caramelizes which turns the bamboo into the beautiful honey color. Because both colors are permanent, they will not wash or wear off. Our premium bamboo is hand selected for quality.
Cutting Board Engineering
The opposing grain end caps reduce the chance of warping. This innovative idea stabilizes the boards, giving you many more years of use. All edges are rounded for a comfortable grip from any direction.
Use and Care
After use, hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent and dry thoroughly. To make it last longer, do not soak or place in the microwave. We recommend treating the board with mineral oil every month or so to keep it beautiful. Do not place in the dishwasher.
