Attaching a Bun Foot
There are several methods of attaching a bun foot. To the left are four basic methods that we have used in our projects.
In our experience the Screw Dowel Attachment is the easiest way to attach bun foot. This method works best when the bottom of the item, that the bun foot is to be attached to, is at least 1 1/2" thick.
The Machine Threaded Attachment is most practical if you are going to remove the bun feet from the item from time to time.
In some instances the bun foot is short enough where you can actually screw the bun foot to your piece using the Screw Attachment method.
Using a Wood Dowel to attach a bun foot offers strength, permanence as well as the ability to attach to a item with a bottom of as little as 3/4" thickness.
