Reeded Island Posts and Acanthus Leaf Corbels
One of the coolest parts of Osborne Wood Products items is the fact that so many various styles work so well together in projects. We often see finished project pictures using products we never would have thought to use together, but we immediately wonder why we didn’t think of it first once we see the finished product!
Such was the case this week when we received several photos from customer Mark Sheidenberger of Saugus, California. Mark, who owns Sheidenberger Woodworks, combined two unlikely styles, the Classic Reeded Island Post (Part #1456) and the Modified Bar Corbel with Acanthus Leaves (Part #8105), both in rubberwood, on his kitchen island project.
One would think that the uniform look of the reeds and the handcarving of the acanthus leaves would not mesh well on the same piece, but as can be seen below, they combine beautifully to create the gorgeous focal point seen below. Thank you, Mark, for sending the pictures our way, and we look forward to seeing the next project!
