Build a Stunning Acrylic Coffee Table with "Do it Better Woodworking"

Many of us have had the joy of working with a more experienced woodworker when we were first starting out. For me it was my dad who ingrained in me to always measure twice so you cut once. We at Osborne are excited to share another build with you from Do it Better Woodworking. Not only is this acrylic coffee table build stunning, but also, DIB Woodworking has a wealth of knowledge to share with you.

This build features our 18″ Amicalola Acrylic Coffee Table Legs (Part #342501), as well as the stunning Rapunzel Inlay Strips (Part# 893234).

Have you ever used a homemade ebonizer? Ebonizing wood is different than staining wood an ebony color. Using an ebonizer is actually creating a chemical reaction which darkens the wood. DIBWoodworking has the step-by-step breakdown of how to make the solution, and what wood types work best with it.

Once you have your ebonizing solution marinating, you can start on the cut list. You will need 4 skirt boards and 4 corner braces, as well as the wood for the table top. The corner braces are a bit tricky; the holes will all need to be drilled so that the acrylic leg is flush with the top of the skirt boards.

After the top is built and Ebonized, Do it Better Woodworking incorporated an extra bit of flair using our new inlay strips. There are also some great instructions on how to route–out nice straight grooves for the inlays.
