Children's Play Table Features Osborne End Table Legs

Our friend Emil created the perfect sized children’s table just in time for the Holidays! Let’s hear from Emil about his project:

“When I was planning to build a play table for my twin 3-year-old grandsons, I realized that Osborne’s 21-inch coffee table legs would be the perfect height for that age. The table in the picture is made with 21″ x 2 1/2” square legs (Part #2210002500) in hard maple, with matching skirt boards. I ripped the stock 4″ wide skirt boards in half; the resulting 2″ wide table skirts allow enough clearance for their legs when they sit at the table. I also added a couple of stretchers across the table base to reinforce the narrow skirt boards. The table top and chairs are recycled: the top was originally a cutting board insert into the kitchen counter of our 1932-vintage home, and was removed when we renovated the kitchen; the chairs have been in the family for generations, and were used both by the mother of my grandsons and by me (many, many decades ago).”
