Kitchen Work Station Using Osborne Island Legs

Kitchen Island Posts & Vanity LegsGallery

Today, our feature post comes from Ron R. and Jane K. in New Hampshire. Ron and Jane decided to create a work table for their new kitchen. Let’s take a look at what steps were taken to complete their project:

“We designed and built this 34″w x 60″l kitchen work table for our newly redone kitchen. We use your Server Island leg (Part #1487) in maple. First we made a SketchUp model using a CAD drawing of the leg. This allowed us to “tweak” the design. The maple top is a 36″ x 60″ Boos Bros. counter top. The table has slated shelves underneath for storage. The shelves are set back about 10″ along one side to allow the table to be used with bar stools as a snack counter. On the other side are three drawers for storage.”

Ron also added: “What really helped us was the Osborne CAD drawings of your leg designs. Using Google’s free design program SketchUp, we found a Youtube video that demonstrated how to use a CAD drawing to create a 3D model of it. From that 3D model we could then virtually “build” the kitchen work table in SketchUp.When we finished the SketchUp model – SketchUp printed out a set of working drawings. In addition, we were very impressed with the high quality of the Osborne legs.”

Awesome design Ron and Jane!
