New Twist on an Old Style

Kitchen Island Posts & Vanity LegsGallery

Everyone knows the saying that everything eventually comes back into style, and this kitchen island created by one of our friends, Daniel, shows that it is true once again.

Daniel used Osborne Weyburn Island Legs (part #2425) in maple to create a handy movable island for his kitchen. He paired the legs with locally obtained figured maple and gave it a beautiful glossy finish, then used a Caesar stone man-made quartz top in bright red for an accent color. The clean and simple lines of the sturdy legs lend a modern twist to the overall retro vibe of the cart, and keep it from overwhelming the room it’s in while still being a talking point.

He uses the island to prepare the food, wheels it to the dining room to use as a sideboard, then collects the dishes on it after dinner for an easy trip back to the kitchen.

Daniel’s kitchen cart project is both useful and a great way to add a splash of color and personality to a room!
