Leon Osborne Recognized at WCMA

The Wood Component Manufacturers Association (WCMA) Fall Conference and Plant Tour Event took place October 12-14 in Louisville Kentucky. The association represents manufacturers of wood component products who supply various component pieces that might be needed for cabinetry, furniture, architectural millwork, closets, flooring, staircases, building materials, and/or decorative wood products. All members represent component manufacturers who manufacture components using hardwoods, softwoods, and/or a variety of engineered wood materials. The membership includes member across the United States and Canada.

Leon Osborne, President and CEO of Osborne Wood Products, Inc., served as president of the WCMA for the past year following several years serving on the board of directors. The Fall Conference represented the culmination of his service, and he was recognized for his contribution to the WCMA. Osborne noted that after months of difficulty working through complications related to the pandemic that it was very satisfying to be able to assemble in person and tour various facilities. The conference is an opportunity to share best practices and ideas about issues related to manufacturing in this segment of the market.

Although recognized for his leadership at the fall conference, Osborne noted that he felt that accomplishments that were significant during his tenure in leadership included supporting the updated branding and marketing of the association and helping navigate the pandemic. Osborne Wood Products, Inc. has been manufacturing in Stephens County since 1979. They manufacture high- quality wood components for the furniture and kitchen and bath industries.
