Lathe Operator
Overview:
This position is for the person who finds satisfaction from making things with his or her hands. It is a blend of practical hands on craftsmanship and the development of continuously improving the production systems. Activities include using lumber in making high quality products such as wood table legs, handmade corbels, turning squares, moldings, table skirts, etc.
As a small company each production associate is involved in multiple tasks that range from running a CNC machine to quality insurance. The most appreciated value that current employees share is the satisfaction of seeing a job well done.
On the job training is a normal part of integration in this teamwork environment.
Requirements:
- Must be available for day shift work Monday – Friday (8:00 am to 5:00pm)
- Ability to pick up a working knowledge of software programs easily
- Problem solving skills with a dedication to finding out why things go wrong instead of just fixing the problem
- Ability to multi-task
- High degree of mathematical skills with the ability to use the metric system and SAE system
- The capacity to focus on meeting or exceeding productivity targets
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize activities in the work environment
- Required Tools: an accurate standard tape measure at least eight (8) feet in length
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Proficient keyboarding, minimum 25 words per minute
- Consistent, punctual attendance in compliance with company policies
Activities:
- Job includes running a wood turning lathe, sanding, and various millwork operations (table saw, band saw, chop saw, etc.) and other woodworking activities
- Additional job responsibilities assigned by your manager

Compensation: Pay based upon experience.
