Product Description:
This pre-glued wood edge banding allows you to cover unfinished edges of plywood or particle board. This helps to prevent damage to the edges of your project while also creating a cohesive look. These rolls are easily applied with heat as per the instructions below. They are unfinished so you can match them to the rest of your design.
Product Instructions:
- Ensure the panel edge that you plan to cover is smooth, clean and at room temperature. Cut a length of edge banding slightly longer than the edge that is being covered.
- Starting at one end, carefully position the edge banding on the edge you want to cover. Keep the edge banding flush on one side and let it overhang on the other.
- With the edge banding in position, apply an iron heated to over 390° F (cotton setting) to melt the glue. Press firmly in one spot to soften the glue enough for a bond to form.
- Immediately follow ironing by applying pressure with a block of wood. This will press the edge banding firmly onto the panel edge.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the edge is completely covered with the edge banding.
- Allow the edge banding to cool and set, then trim where necessary using a knife, file or sandpaper.
- Stain, finish or paint the applied edge banding as required.
