Criss-Cross Pedestals from Square Legs

Osborne's Square Dining Table Legs in hickory, part 2290003500 were transformed by Burning River Woodworks into this stunning criss-cross table base. They made the table for their local firefighters--the Chagrin Valley FIre Dept, and were proud to be a part of that renovation.

So many things make this table a show-stopper, starting with the dramatic striping on each of the hickory legs, that were expertly milled into shorter lengths to attach at an angle to each of the vertical posts of the trestle.

Because hickory is one of the hardest wood types, it is not only extremely durable, but is also super heavy. The top alone is over 1.5" thick and weighs over 300 pounds, requiring a team of six to move it into it's final resting place. Notice the extra bracing under the table top to help support all that extra weight! One of our favorite features is the extra-long overhang on all four sides that allows for comfortable dining, with no table legs to knock against your knees. This table is ten feet long and four feet wide--holy smokes that is big!
