Although the Extended Jefferson Kitchen Island Leg is one of our simpler designs, it's unique composition presents a number of different application possibilities. It is 40 1/2" tall which is ideal for kitchen islands, bars, hutches and other tall table designs. However, this piece is incredibly slender with a 2 1/2" width. This narrow profile does not take away from the sturdiness or durability of the design. The wooden post can be used as a pair to easily support a countertop. We also see this leg applied to cabinetry as support for a small countertop overhang.
There are several wood types you can choose from when working with this leg. All of our wooden components are sanded to 150 grit to allow for customization. No matter what style you are going for, it can be easily achieved with the right finish. We have wood types that can be painted or stained to your desired color. If you like the simplicity of this design, we offer variations of the piece including an architectural column. The Jefferson Column (Part #1693) has the same slim width as this island post but it is an impressive 60" tall. Utilizing these components together will create a stunning theme throughout your home.
