Overall Dimensions:
- 34 1/2“ W x 13 1/2“ H
Adjustable to fit your space
Materials Used:
3/4" Plywood
Coat Hooks
Keyhole Brackets
Tools Used:
| • Table Saw | • Miter Saw | • Drill |
| • Router | • Wood Glue | • Strap Clamp |
• Pocket Hole Jig | • Wood Stain | • Screwdriver |
Step 1
Measure and cut molding to size with 45 degree Miters to form corners. Test fit corners before assembly to ensure proper fit.
Step 2
Apply wood glue to each corner and clamp with a strap clamp on a flat surface. Nails or screws may also be used if desired.
Step 3
Cut a plywood panel to fit inside the frame, leaving a small reveal for wood movement. The dimensions for this will depend on the size of your project.
Step 4
Drill pocket holes in the back of the frame for attaching the mounting board later. Sand the frame smooth with 150 grit sandpaper.
Step 5
On the back of the frame, mark equal distances from the top for keyhole brackets. Route two depths: one for the bracket about a 1/4”, and one deeper for the screw head leaving about an 1/8” shoulder on each side. Install brackets with screws.
Step 6
Stain or paint the frame and mounting board as desired.
Step 7
Place the plywood panel flush inside the frame and secure it with screws through the pre-drilled pocket holes.
Step 8
Evenly space and mark the hook locations. Pre-drill small holes using a bit just smaller than the screw, then attach the hooks with screws.
