Recipient Chosen for Annual Leon Osborne Community Service Award

Osborne Wood Products, Inc. held their annual employee appreciation event on Thursday, April 30 where Diana Knox was recognized as this year’s recipient of the “Leon Osborne Community Service Award”.

Leon Osborne, founder, always had a passion for helping the community and initiated various opportunities for employees and the company to be involved. This led to the development of an annual recognition where one staff member is acknowledged for their outstanding community service efforts.

Employees are anonymously nominated for this award and whoever receives the most votes becomes the winner. Diana Knox, one of the company’s customer service representatives, was chosen this year because of her work pioneering a local book club for kids called Just One More Chapter. She started this club with her daughter as a way for local youth to make new friends while sharing a love for reading. At each monthly meeting, participants enjoy discussions, gourmet snacks and games related to the book(s) of the month.

“I am pleased to see that Diana is being recognized for her initiative and volunteerism in creating a reading club to benefit children in our community,” stated Jeremy McClain, CEO.

In addition to Diana’s recognition, Osborne Wood Products donated $500 to the book club to support their ongoing efforts.
