Portsmouth End

Portsmouth End, from the End Table Legs line #1214 (21 x 2 3/4)

The concave and convex turnings on this leg of distinction set the tone for the long sloped body of this beautiful masterpiece. Supporting all this is the upside-down pear-shaped foot. Each individual component designed in the Portsmouth End Table Leg would be considered classic by themselves. And when viewed in its entirety the Portsmouth is one that is so versatile that it can be used on so many different styles of furniture.

Old World End Table

Old World End Table, from the End Table Legs line #1222 (21 x 3)

As I walked in, I noticed the cherry raised panels encircling the wall. It was evident that one of the top designers had put this room together. The globe that added the blue accents was perched prominently by one of the two overstuffed cordovan leather chairs. The bookcases, the desk and even the window coverings screamed success. And there in the midst of it all was this lovely end table. But, what was so striking about it was that it was constructed with the most beautiful legs. The legs were gently tapered, but also reeded to give that sense of height and continuity. And the turnings--the turnings were superb in every way. I felt like a king standing in the midst of this immaculate room.

4 Sided Tapered End Table

4 Sided Tapered End Table, from the End Table Legs line #1280 (21 x 2 3/4)

Like its counterpart the 4-Sided Tapered Coffee Table Leg, the 4-Sided Tapered End Table Leg is just as comfortable mixing with ornate furniture as it is with simple Shaker-style furniture. The beauty of the 4-Sided Tapered End Table Leg is that the leg can enhance a table with intricate carvings along its top edge, or even a carved drawer front just as easily as it does a simple plain occasional table. The 4-Sided Tapered End Table Leg can produce a table that is at home in any decor.

Cabriole End

Cabriole End, from the End Table Legs line #1290 (21 x 2 3/4)

The Chinese are credited with the design of the Cabriole Leg. It was their thought that the leg was most reminiscent of the leg of an animal; therefore, it had special characteristics that blended with nature. It wasn't until the 1700's that the cabinetmakers in Western Europe began using this stylish leg to adorn and support their furniture. It has been a favorite ever since.
