Instructions:
Step 1
Begin by combining each table leg and skirtboard at their respective pre-made mortise/tenon joints. Wood glue may be used, but is not necessary. Additionally, a rubber mallet may assist with fitting these joints.
Step 2
Combine each table leg and skirtboard by drilling them together with the supplied pocket hole screws. These pocket holes are all pre-installed with the kit.
Step 3
Next, add the four provided corner blocks along each corner of the base for extra strength and rigidity. We recommend loosely installing your hanger bolts into each corner block to hold them in place.
Step 4
Once each corner block is in place, secure them by drilling your four screws into each corner block. Finally, use your ½” wrench to secure each hanger bolt one last time. This will make for a very tight fit.
Step 5
At this point you can apply the finish of your choice to both pieces before attaching the tabletop to the base of your bench kit. Our kits are available in multiple wood species, including both stain and paint-grade options, so you can get creative with this step.
Step 6
Place your tabletop upside down on your work surface and align your base on the top, measuring for the proper overhang.
Step 7
Drill your screws into each pocket hole, securing the tabletop and base. Your DIY Dining Table Bench Seat is now assembled!
