Beautiful New Kitchen Mantle with the Mendoza Beaded Corbel
There are certain stock items that can always be relied on to show up on the company blog of Osborne Wood Products, Inc. Island legs such as the Islander, Rope, or Barley Twist have had their fair share of appearances as have many bun feet and a nice selection of corbels of the classic, acanthus, and mission varieties. However, there are certain items not ordered as often which show up on our blog even less. We are always thrilled to be able to highlight these items for customer review.
Such was the case when customer Karen M. of Jonestown, Texas, submitted finished project pictures of her new kitchen mantle. Karen ordered two of Osborne’s Mendoza Beaded Corbels (Part #8452) in cherry to compliment either side of the mantle over her stove. The beautiful results can be seen here. Thank you, Karen, for the beautiful pictures as well as the chance to highlight an item not normally seen in its finished state!
This corbel has a distinctly Latin air that calls to mind images of Southwestern architecture and the Spanish Colonial Revival period. The evidence of Mission Style inspiration lies in the strong but simple scrolls along the corbel’s side, accented by the clean straight lines adjacent to it. These features, in stark contrast with its more ornate face, are where the appeal of this stunning corbel is found.
