Cherry Venice Classic Corbels

Once in a while, we receive a photo from a customer that literally takes our breath away. We are so taken aback by the creativity, elegance, and beauty of the project that we are rendered speechless for a few moments. Such was the case this week when we received the finished project pictures of customer John C. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. John decided to do a fireplace remodel incorporating, in his words, “modern simplicity with a touch of old world elegance.” John took his original fireplace as seen here and decided to make some dramatic changes for the better.

The surrounding part of the fireplace is made of cherry wood and finished with a cherry stain as well. John incorporated the cherry Venice Classic Corbels (Part #8005) on the front of the fireplace for a touch of simple sophistication.

Because John is not using the fire box to burn wood, he fitted it with mirror plexiglass he heated and shaped to fit the fire box. All of the mirror plexiglass pieces are friction fit so John can remove them and build an actual fire if he so chooses. The bottom of the fireplace is covered with forty-four pounds of polished river rocks which are accented with candlelight for a beautiful multidimensional effect when lit.
