Entry Way Bench Design Features Osborne Turnings
At Osborne Wood Products we have been privileged to partner with some amazing DIY Bloggers to bring free tutorials to our customers. Now that many of these tutorials have circulated the World Wide Web, we are able to see many examples of our talented customer’s take on the projects. Building, designing, and modifying the tutorials to fit their own personal style and specifications, we truly have some of the most skilled and talented customers here at Osborne!
Today I would like to feature a stunning entry way bench design from our friend Rick. Rick got the idea from Shanty2Chic tutorial. Rick was able to modify the design to create the perfect piece for his home. Rick used the Shanty2Chic Bench Leg (Part #1337) to complete this beautiful design.
Here’s what Rick told us about the project: “The only thing I did differently from that site is the top of the bench which I made from 2×4’s. Everything is pine. I purchased the legs from Osborne Wood. I’ve never really wanted to get into turning. I know it would be fun but I have so many tools as it is already and there’s not too many projects where I need something turned.
All joining faces are still glued even though I used the Kreg screws. I painted the base in Sherwin Williams Canvas White. The top I treated with Minwax Conditioner first then 10 minutes later stained with General Finishes Candlelight oil stain. I protected the base with minwax spray water based polycrylic. I protected the top with minwax spray poly.”
