Osborne Company News

On Thursday, February 16, 2023, the Leadership Toccoa group began their Industry Day event with a tour at Osborne Wood Products before visiting other local companies. This was their final activity day prior to graduation which occurred that evening. Osborne was honored to open their facility to the group early Thursday morning.

“It was indeed a privilege to be able to meet future leaders of Stephens County with the visit from Leadership Toccoa. We had opportunity to share the value that they contribute to our community as well as their potential opportunities for career advancement,” stated Leon Osborne, CEO of Osborne. “I found it rewarding to see how our team connected with these upcoming leaders demonstrating creative use of initiative and skills.”

Approximately 30 individuals attended the company tour which lasted around 45 minutes and ended with a Q&A session. Customer Service Lead Jenny Shannon, Marketing Lead Cheryl Flatt, Vice President Jeremy McClain and CEO Leon Osborne facilitated the tour.

“The tour was well-received. Everyone was very attentive and asked great questions,” said Shannon. “We typically tour for applicants or customers but it was nice to be able to introduce people to the business and how it is run.”

Leadership Toccoa is a six-month program sponsored by the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce that is dedicated to developing leaders within the community. Adults and high school seniors can participate in the program. Industry Day allows them to visit several local businesses and learn about their day-to-day operations. It was a great chance for both the Leadership Toccoa group and Osborne to create meaningful connections.

“I had a great time with the Leadership Toccoa Tour group. It was a pleasure to spend time with these graduating seniors and help them discover the various career opportunities available in their hometown,” stated Flatt. “It was thrilling for me to show them the potential opportunities here at Osborne Wood Products.”
