JPK Woodworks designs Mantel using Osborne Wood Corbels

One of the most versatile product lines offered at Osborne Wood Products is the corbel and bracket collection. Ranging in sizes, styles, and wood types, corbels can be used in an array of incredible applcations. Traditionally, corbels are found underneath a counter top or bar top as a decorative support. You can also find them delightfully adorning a range hood in the kitchen. Open shelving achieves a high-end look with decorative brackets supporting the shelves. Corbels can also be used on the fire place mantel. Some of the most amazing pieces of craftsmanship include carved or contemporary corbels from the Osborne Wood Products collection.

Today I would love to feature a stunning fireplace mantel design sent to us from Jon at JPK Woodworks. Jon chose two different corbel sizes to complete this project. The first corbel that Jon chose was the Barcelona Classic Corbel (Part #8050) in mahogany. The beautifully hand carved Barcelona corbels find their home at the top of the piece on either side of the screen. The smaller corbels are chose here for an aesthetic balance that doesn’t distract from the remainder of the piece.

The second corbel style Jon chose was the Shallowford Classic Corbel (Part #8453) in Mahogany. The Shallowford corbels match the Barcelona silhouette flawlessly for a cohesive look. Just to emphasize the grandeur of this project, check out the specs on the corbels Jon chose! The Shallowford corbel is over 2 feet high! The Barcelona corbels at the top of the piece may look small in the photo, but they are 10.5″ in height. Incredible!
