Inlay Strips Add Exquisite Detail to Corner Desk

Osborne Wood Products is proud to offer a wide variety of wood inlay strips, which add snappy geometric patterns to any woodworking project. They are only 7/16″ wide and a very thin 1/32″ thick! Your table, or desk, or box, or just about any other wood item will be all dressed up with one of our inlays. Check out this amazing corner desk, crafted by our friend Stephen Ford from Polk City, IA. He used our Hermes Inlay Strip (Part #893074) to outline the angles on the entire desktop. Doesn’t it just make the desk really grab your eyes?

Stephen added another attractive feature to the side panels of the desk, our Square Acanthus Applique (Part #7635). It adds even more interest to this showpiece of a project.

We love the outline of the lighter wood all around the edges, and especially how the inlay strip accentuates the sleek lines of the desktop and beautifully separate the red oak top from the lighter wood of the border. Inlay strips can be installed by routing a groove of the appropriate width and depth using a straight router bit, and then simply glue in the banding. Very nice, Stephen–you make it look easy!
