Missouri Hickory Wood Creates Beautiful Harvest Table

Seth K. of Missouri has created another beautiful Harvest Table Design. For this project Seth chose the Wilmington Island Post (Part #1408) in red oak. This island size leg arrived to Seth standing at 34 1/2″ tall. Seth creatively and skillfully cut the leg to dining table height to create the perfect effect for the table he was creating.

After the legs were cut to just the right size, Seth was able to assemble and finish a stunning harvest table. The legs were stained with a dark finish that still allowed the natural grain of the oak to shine through. The same dark finishing style was applied to the wood top, which Seth tells us is Hickory wood harvested in Missouri.

Seth tells us about his most recent design, “This is a gorgeous harvest table with nice details. The Red Oak base & Hickory top both harvested right here in Missouri. The slender legs add a touch of elegance, and the scalloped apron not only makes the table unique, but functionally it also adds leg room for taller dinner guests! The legs and aprons utilize pinned mortise and tenon joints. Cross bracing and corner blocks underneath add structural rigidity. The custom oil based finish provides both warmth and depth.”
