Builder's Studio: Osborne Legacy Workbench Kit Assembly

Introducing the Osborne Legacy Workbench Kit! This easy DIY workbench kit offers a wide range of features that are perfect for small and large woodworking shops. Each workbench features two built-in vises, storage drawer, tool well, and removable dowel hangers. The Osborne Legacy Workbench comes partially assembled and requires a simple installation of the bottom shelf, drawer, and base. All kits can be assembled with minimal tools and ready for use quickly! Sara demonstrates this assembly in the video below.

  1. The large pieces (top and legs) will be assembled upon arrival. The smaller items will be ready for assembly.

  2. First, attach the lower shelf to both of the legs starting with the two boards that have the shelf notches cut.

    1. Insert the barrel nuts into the pre drilled holes and thread the bolts through with an allen key to attach both of the shelf pieces.

  3. Before you install the other side of your shelf, you will want to install the shelf bottom first using the holes for guidance and the allen key to tighten the bolts.

  4. Next, attach the base to the worktop using the supplied hardware. Lay the top upside down with the base upside down on top of it. The base attaches with a set of lag bolts and washers. You will need a 13mm wrench to attach them.

  5. Now that you have the main body of the workbench assembled, let's assemble the drawer. It is five pieces that are all pre-milled and pre-drilled.

  1. Start by attaching the sides to the drawer face using the included hardware, sliding the drawer bottom into the drawer slots, and then finally attaching the drawer back.

  1. When attaching the wooden drawer slides to the bottom of your table top, make sure you are attaching them with the drawer in between them so you do not have any issues with interference later.

  2. Lastly, you will install the 2nd vice (the first one is already pre installed). To do this, just insert the vice into the pre-drilled holes on the front of the worktable and screw it in with the handle of the vice
