Step 1 - Trace mirror on plywood and cut

Trace your mirror onto the sheet of plywood and then using the circular saw, cut out the shape.

Step 2 - Measure lumber

Measure out a frame using 1” x 4” lumber based on the size of the plywood. For minimal gaps, ensure measurements are as precise as possible.

Step 3 - Cut lumber

Using the miter saw, cut the 1” x 4” frame at a 45 degree angle.

Step 4 - Add pocket holes

Create pocket holes in the frame using the drill and pocket hole jig. Next screw the frame to the plywood base.

Step 5 - Sand exposed areas

Sand down any areas that will be exposed after installation.

Step 6 - Cut moulding

Cut down the acanthus leaf moulding to match the dimensions of the frame using the miter saw at 45 degrees. This will attach on the outer part of the frame. Next, cut down the bead moulding to match the dimensions of the mirror using the miter saw at 45 degrees. This will go on the inner part of the frame.

Step 7 - Dry fit pieces together

Dry fit the bead moulding using the mirror and mark the edges.

Step 8 - Attach moulding

Remove the mirror and attach the moulding pieces using a thin line of wood glue followed by finishing nails to secure it in place while drying.

Step 9 - Finish the moulding

Paint or stain the moulding and the frame the color of your choice.

Step 10 - Apply mirror

Using mirror construction adhesive, adhere the mirror onto the plywood base within the frame. Apply firm pressure and once the adhesive is dry, your build is complete!
