Saved by Scottie Creates Custom Countertop
Our friend Scottie runs a blog called Saved by Scottie where she tells you about projects she’s working on and gives instructions on how to do it yourself, too! Scottie is a mother of four and still finds time to do all of the amazing things you’ll find on her blog. From repurposing to creating new furniture, Scottie does just about everything under the sun when it comes to woodworking and DIY. The case is no different with her most recent addition to her blog. Scottie called us when she found out that a client of hers was looking for a new countertop and we couldn’t have been more thrilled about it.

She let us know that she was looking for some corbels after she took a look at our website. We found the perfect corbels for the project and the rest is history. For this project, Scottie chose to use our Milan Classic Corbels (Part #8010) to really make this new countertop something special. Melissa, a makeup artist that is local to Scottie’s area, asked Scottie to make her sales counter look a bit more substantial after she moved to a larger location. As soon as Scottie saw the new location and the original counter, she knew that Melissa needed a bigger top and that our corbels would make all the difference by giving it the character it needed to stand out.
We’re not going to give you all the details on how she worked her magic, but you can read her blog post to see how she created the new countertop and supported it with our corbels. It’s a great DIY project for someone looking to add a bit more space to a cramped area. She gives you instructions on how to create the top itself, how to stain, paint, and distress the corbels, and how to install everything so that you get the most support you need. Bonus!
