This 1" wide Floating Shelf Bracket Kit is made from aluminum and feature two interlocking metal brackets, a small level, and necessary attachment hardware. One of the metal bracket pieces is attached into a recessed groove on the back of a shelf, while the other metal bracket attaches to the wall with screws. The metal bracket on the shelf slips over the cleat on the wall bracket, forming a very strong support structure. The result is a shelf that appears to be floating on the wall without any obvious means of support.
This bracket kit is available in multiple lengths. To install, a channel no deeper than 1/2" must be created. If it is deeper, the shelf will sag. It should be approximately one inch longer than the hardware. Hardware can be used with shelves that are at least 1 3/4" thick and up to 4" longer than the hardware itself. Also, keep in mind that the tip of the hook should be flush with the wood that it is being mounted into.
Please note: Each shelf installation is unique. The strength of your shelf will be determined by the substrate, the number of contact points, the height of the shelf from the screw, and the depth of the shelf. Osborne Wood Products, Inc is unable to make assumptions about your installation. If you would like to calculate the force load on each connection point, divide the depth by the thickness. This is your force factor. Multiply the force factor by your desired maximum load. This is your total force on the wall. You would then divide the force on the wall by the number of contact points. This is your total lbs. of tension per point. If your lbs. of tension per point is supported by your substrate, this would be a potential solution for you. Included fasteners are generally reliable for most installations. However, you will need to make the determination if they work in your application.

I will be using this in an area that does not have the space for exposed shelving brackets. I also wanted a clean look. I would recommend this for anyone wanting an aesthetic option for shelving.
The quality is superb and the included hardware kit gives many options as is or would be possible to add to or customize by the end user. I also felt it was a great value compared to other products I had looked at online and elsewhere. -
