This Floating Shelf is exactly that - a shelf that appears to float on the wall without any apparent support underneath it. This is accomplished through a metal bracket on the back of the shelf that is recessed into the wood, which slips over matching hardware that is attached to the wall. Hardware is included to attach the metal bracket to a wall. Included leveler snaps in/out of bracket when securing to the wall, to make sure the bracket is level. It is 1 3/4" thick with an 8" depth and multiple lengths to choose from. It is a modern storage solution that will look great in any space!
Please note: Each shelf installation is unique. The strength of your shelf will be determined by the substrate, the number of contact points, the height of the shelf from the screw, and the depth of the shelf. Osborne Wood Products, Inc is unable to make assumptions about your installation. If you would like to calculate the force load on each connection point, divide the depth by the thickness. This is your force factor. Multiply the force factor by your desired maximum load. This is your total force on the wall. You would then divide the force on the wall by the number of contact points. This is your total lbs. of tension per point. If your lbs. of tension per point is supported by your substrate, this would be a potential solution for you. Included fasteners are generally reliable for most installations. However, you will need to make the determination if they work in your application.

Would have given a Five, but we had a little repair work to do on these. 1. mounting screws were deeply pressed into one shelf requiring steam and sanding, 2. small chip on one end. we had to trim 1/8th inch off both and re-sand to make them perfect.
