This Screw Dowel is useful if your build calls for a wood to wood application. This is sold as a singular piece with a 4" length and 3/8" width. We also have a smaller Screw Dowel (Part #916) available that is half the length. These screw dowels make it easy to attach two pieces of wood together. They are often used with finials, table legs, furniture feet and other wooden components.
When installing these, it is recommended to create pilot holes and use wood glue for some added strength. You can use a dowel screwdriver head to insert the screw into the first wooden piece. You can also use the unthreaded center and a pair of pliers to insert the screw. Once the first half of the screw is attached, you can attach your second piece (a leg, foot, finial, etc.) Make sure to create a pilot hole and add a bit of glue for extra strength.
