The acanthus leaves that adorn the Islander with Acanthus Leaves Kitchen Island Leg first appeared in art of ancient Greece in the 4th and 5th centuries. It has remained a popular design and is typically used to add grace and elegance to a space. This island leg is 36" tall and 3 1/2" wide, ideal for tall kitchen islands or tables. It has a traditional island leg profile with just the right amount of hand carved acanthus leaves adorning the top of the center shaft. The top and bottom blocks on the design allow for additional elements to be incorporated into your build such as shelving, drawers, rails, table skirting and more.
We have a large selection of components with acanthus leaf carvings that can be found in our Vineyard Collection. This includes corbels, furniture feet, moulding and table legs. Pair some of these complementary pieces together for a unique and stunning theme! All of our wooden components are sanded to 150 grit and left unfinished so that you can stain or paint them the color of your choice. They are also available in multiple wood species allowing for further customization options.
