All table extension slides are sold as a pair (one right, one left). Equalizing slides are created specifically for pedestal tables. Its design features a camber that will prevent table sagging, as well as a rack and pinion system that allows for equal and smooth extension. Each slide will have eight pre-drilled holes in order to be attached to the table top. Please note that table top mounting screws are not included.
- Table slide length when closed: 40"
Table slide length when fully extended: 119"
Table slide width (when closed): 5" (constructed with five sections) - Accepts six (6) 12" leaves
It is important to use the correct table slide. We also carry these options:
- Standard table slides (or split-frame slides): A standard slide is designed for traditional tables that have four legs. The distance between the legs on each end of the table will increase as the table is extended. These slides create a camber in the center of the table to compensate for sagging.
- Standard equalizing table slides: This hybrid design combines the camber from the standard slide with the rack and pinion mechanism from the equalizing slide. It is ideal for tables with five legs (a center support).

I replaced the original metal accordion style extension that came with the Thomasville 48" round table from 1971 with the Equalizer Table Slide. The table would accommodate two 18" leaves and I wanted to be able to add a third 18" leaf. The 40" Equalizer Table Slide was a very tight fit due to the apron on the table, but I was able to install the product. Now to make the additional 18" leaf. I would recommend this product to anyone who is build a pedestal table or is updating the extension mechanism on an existing table. Once installed, the table open and closed smoothly and easily. The product is well made.
